First of all, it’s important to consider whether CBD hot chocolates are right for you. Remember that you are drinking the CBD, meaning that it is processed similarly to an edible or capsule. In other words, the CBD may take a couple of hours to take effect, as opposed to the 30 or so minutes if you take it sublingually. The CBD is also released over a longer period, meaning its effects can last longer. Taking CBD is a very individual experience, and your method of imbibing will depend on a lot of personal factors. Of course, if you are dieting and avoiding sugar, then hot cocoa probably isn’t the choice for you! We wouldn’t recommend having a CBD hot chocolate every single day, but they certainly make a great treat every once in a while!

Choosing the Right CBD for Your Hot Chocolate

When it comes to choosing the right CBD product for your hot chocolate, you have a multitude of options. CBD isolate powders can easily be stirred into drinks and make a wonderful, flavorless addition; CBD liposomes can mix easily with other liquids and are perfect for CBD beverages. However, it’s a lot easier to get your hands on CBD oils than it is either of the above products. Furthermore, it’s easier to serve them with a strength that suits you. Here are our four favorite recipes to create that perfect CBD hot chocolate!

Recipe 1 | CBD Dark Orange Hot Chocolate

Without all the airs and graces, this CBD hot chocolate is ideal for any chocoholic. It’s easy to make, requires few ingredients, and tastes just like your everyday hot chocolate. If you’re not one for trying new things, then this recipe is the one for you. Serves: 1 You will need:

  • 1 oz dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
  • LUFF ASSIST CBD Oil Tincture
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Mix the chocolate, cocoa powder, and ½ cup of milk in a small saucepan. Put it over low heat.
  2. Stir continuously until the chocolate is all melted, then add the remainder of the milk along with the cinnamon and sea salt.
  3. Stir in the sugar and add the LUFF ASSIST CBD Oil Tincture– use however much you need for your required serving.
  4. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug. Top with whipped cream and marshmallows if you’re feeling extra sweet!

Recipe 2 | Peppermint Orange CBD Hot Chocolate

Mint-flavored hot chocolates have long since been a favorite. They capture the Winter season perfectly – but who’s to say you can’t have one whenever you feel like it?! Peppermint and chocolate just seem to go hand in hand, and that’s why we just had to include a minty hot chocolate recipe on our list. Serves: 2 You will need:

  • 2 ½ cups coconut milk
  • ¼ cup cacao powder
  • 2 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • LUFF ASSIST CBD Oil Tincture
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract

Instructions:

  1. Heat the coconut in a small saucepan until it comes to a boil.
  2. Turn off the heat and add in all the other ingredients including the amount of LUFF ASSIST CBD Oil Tincture you desire, whisking together until smooth.
  3. Pour into mugs immediately and serve.

Recipe 3 | Lavender CBD Hot Chocolate

So, if you’re struggling to drift off to sleep, then grab a mug, get your ingredients, and whip up this yummy lavender and orange-flavored CBD hot chocolate.   • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon culinary lavender
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Add the milk to a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Add the lavender to the boiling milk, cover, and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Pour the mixture through a tea strainer (or a fine mesh strainer) to remove the lavender.
  4. Blend the lavender-infused milk with all the other ingredients including LUFF DREAM Oil Tincture at the desired strength.
  5. Pour into your favorite mug and serve.

Recipe 4 | Hazelnut CBD Hot Chocolate

If you are nutty about hazelnut, then this recipe is for you. It’s velvety, smooth, and delicious. After whipping up this cannabinoid delight, you can sit back, relax, and indulge in this serving of bliss in a mug. We promise you’ll be coming back for more! Serves: 1 You will need:

  • 24 oz hazelnut milk (or regular milk)
  • 2 teaspoons cacao butter, melted
  • LUFF ASSIST CBD Oil TIncture
  • 2 heaped tablespoon cacao powder
  • 5 teaspoons maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Melt the cacao butter in a saucepan on very low heat until liquid or semi-liquid.
  2. Blend all other ingredients in a food processor or blender until completely smooth.
  3. Warm the mixture in a saucepan along with the cacao butter over low heat until the desired temperature is reached.
  4. Pour into a mug and serve. Optionally, you can add whipped cream and a few sprinklings of cinnamon, nutmeg, or cayenne.
